Mike was born and raised in Kenosha and is a former Kenosha Police officer. He spent 3 years on patrol, 7 years in the gang unit, 3 years in the drugs/narcotics division, 5 years in the US Marshall task force, and 16 years as a detective. Phew! With all that experience, you better believe he's got a story or two to tell.
Unsurprisingly, Mike's life experiences are the main source of his comedy material. According to Mike: "If you keep your eyes open, you can find humor in just about anything...life, it writes itself."
Mike was pushed into comedy at the goading of his daughter, Amy, who requested he do standup for her birthday gift.
Mike got the first inkling of his comedic calling when he placed 2nd out of 25 comedians on a self-described "off-night" in Chicago with his son. Keep in mind, this was only his third time ever even trying standup comedy! That experience along with his son's encouragement gave him the nudge he needed to keep pursuing comedy.
Mike was teaching driver's education and would practice comedy relentlessly on his captive audience of students.
